Discover Bihać

Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Bihać is a city and the administrative centre of Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated on the banks of river Una in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Bosanska Krajina region close to the border with Croatia. In 2013 its population was 56,261.

As you step into Bihać, you will be greeted by the emerald green waters of the Una River, which flows through the heart of the city. The river is a popular spot for swimming, rafting, and kayaking, as well as for enjoying a leisurely stroll along its banks. On the other side of the river, you will find the Una National Park, a protected area that boasts stunning waterfalls and untouched forests.

One of the must-see attractions in Bihać is the impressive medieval fortress of Ostrožac, which dates back to the 16th century. The fortress is situated on a hill overlooking the Una River, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Another historical landmark worth visiting is the Fethija Mosque, a beautiful example of Ottoman architecture that was built in the 16th century.
